This is a series of first reading books made up of real stories with a beginning, a middle and an end. The stories don't exceed 50 words and cover humorous stories, fantasy stories, rhyming stories and stories from a range of cultures to support literacy requirements at foundation stage. Bright, colour pictures accompany them.

Biography
Lynne was born in Canada but has been happily settled in Scotland since 1992. She has been a writer of sorts all her life, working as a translator in Toronto, a proofreader in Montreal and an editor in Glasgow. Her early career included a brief stint as a children's illustrator for Crabtree Publishing Company, and this has proved invaluable in her picture book writing. She can visualise a story, then let someone else do the hard work of illustrating! Lynne began writing for children when her own kids were learning to read. Several of her books feature penguins in starring roles because her son loves penguins. The idea of a penguin turning pink was her daughter's.
