Oolong’s unique process is that after it’s dried, the leaves are wrapped in a ball with a cloth and rolled back and forth until eventually the leaves are semi-fermented and hemispherical.

After the war and the Japanese left Taiwan, the price for coffee beans wasn’t competitive enough, so many coffee plantations were abandoned.
●拉拉山自然保護區內有很多難得一見的野生動物，如臺灣黑熊、彌猴、山羌等，是臺灣生態保育的重要地方，賞鳥者會到這裡來看種類繁多的獨特鳥類。
This area is an important ecological conservation area in Taiwan with many rare wild animals, such as the Formosan black bear, macaques, and muntjac deer. Bird watchers come here to spot the diverse and unique bird species.
●留守的人在盜匪走後就在夜間放天燈作為信號讓山上避難的村民知道可以返家，當時他們返家日是農曆正月十五的元宵節，之後每年元宵節，平溪的村民就會放天燈來互報平安。
After the bandits left, the village keeper released a sky lantern to inform the villagers that it was safe to come home. The day the villagers came home was on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year. It became a tradition for the people in Pinghsi to release sky lanterns (also called “The blessing light”) to tell each other they are safe and sound.。
