The 2011 volume of Ceramics in America features an important review of the ceramic works of Chinese artist and political dissident Ai Weiwei, and a seminal study of the so-called Chinese Scholar pattern that appears on late seventeenth-century tin-glazed earthenware. Other important topics include Morgantown, West Virginia, stoneware, Thomas Commeraw's oyster jars, the States Border Series by James and Ralph Clews, and archaeologically recovered ceramics from Maryland and New Hampshire.
