Corbelling is a weight-bearing structuring principle whose earliest instance can be found in fifth-millennium-BC domed burial chambers. Curiously, corbelled domes resurfaced as a global architectural phenomenon about 200 years ago. Renate L bbecke has been photographing such structures for more than 25 years, and gathers the results here.
