After surviving a major accident, a man is trapped in a village buried in the snow and cut off from the world by a nationwide power failure. He is entrusted to Matthias, a taciturn old man who agrees to heal his wounds in exchange for wood, food, and, crucially, a place in the convoy leaving for the city in the spring – the only escape. Inside the veranda of a house where air currents and rare visitors intermingle, the two men find themselves prisoners of winter and of their own rough confrontation. They weave complex links as, surrounded by a nature both hostile and sublime, they become subjected to the rumours and passions that shake the village. As the centimetres of snow accumulate, their relationship oscillates between commiseration, mistrust, and mutual aid borne out of necessity. Will they manage to stand up against external threats and intimate pitfalls?
