Susanna Avery-Quash is Senior Research Curator (History of Collecting) at The National Gallery, London, responsible for activities associated with its research strand, ’Buying, Collecting and Display’. She has published on the history of collecting and the art market especially in relation to the National Gallery. She is a board member of The Society for the History of Collecting and TIAMSA.

Barbara Pezzini is Editor of Visual Resources and has recently completed her PhD on the National Gallery, London art dealer Agnew’s and the Old Master Market. She has published extensively on the critical reception, market and circulation of Old Master paintings and has worked for The National Gallery and The National Trust in archival, digital and research projects.
