Together, they have coauthored Douglass and Lincoln: How a Revolutionary Black Leader and a Reluctant Liberator Struggled to End Slavery and Save the Union, named of Kirkus Reviews’ top ten nonfiction books of 2008, and Sarah’s Long Walk: The Free Blacks of Boston and How Their Struggle for Equality Changed America, one of The Christian Science Monitor’s top five history books of 2005.
