Panicked city officials put a quarantine in place when an out of control virus lands. The quarantine goes sideways, and the National Guard is called in to quell the ensuing panic. State and Federal officials brook no demonstrations, and the city is slowly purged of dissidents. Only a dedicated few remain to live off what is left behind.
When Russell accepts that he has escaped the city’s purge of its inhabitants, he hunkers down in an abandoned house in a suburb. Managing his day-to-day needs occupies every waking hour. When he accidentally encounters another doing the same, he sets out to discover who it is and if they would like to partner up.
The world he has known may be no more, but Russell has a plan. It includes a comfortable roof over his head, plenty of food, and even a partner. So far, his plan is working.
When a wrench and a stranger are thrown into the mix, it’s anybody’s guess who will save the day and the relationship in a new and unforgiving land.
