＂Knowing and photographing Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. That correlation between difficulty and transcendent experience just flies right out the proverbial window in Stevie’s case. Without his huge talent and generosity that wouldn’t have happened. Every one of my images is a true collaboration. I do believe you can’t capture something that doesn’t want to be caught. Not for long, anyway. There will never be another SRV, and we were so very lucky that on October 3, 1954, he assumed mortal form. He was an amazing person as well as one of the best musicians ever. He was kind, compassionate, spirited, funny, and real, and in his just less than 36 years he glimpsed more of Heaven and Hell than most of us ever will. He had that persistent need to share both his ecstasy and his pain in his music and his life with his audience and we are better for that.
