Colin R. Martin RN, BSc, MSc, PhD, MBA, YCAP, FHEA, C.Psychol, AFBPsS, C.Sci is Professor of Perinatal Mental Health at the University of Hull and former Professor of Mental Health at Buckinghamshire New University, Middlesex, UK. He is a Chartered Health Psychologist and a Chartered Scientist. He also trained in analytical biochemistry, this aspect reflecting the psychobiological focus of much of his research within mental health. He has published or has in press well over 200 research papers and book chapters. He is a keen book author and editor having written and/or edited 15 books all of which reflect his diverse academic interests that examine in-depth, the interface between mental health and physical health. These outputs include the seminal five volume magnum opus, Handbook of Behavior, Food and Nutrition (2011), the prophetic insight into the treatment of neurological disease, Nanomedicine and the Nervous System (2012), and the major reference works Comprehensive Guide to Autism (2014), Diet and Nutrition in Dementia and Cognitive Decline (2015) and Comprehensive Guide to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (2016). Professor Martin has a keen interest in neurosciences from molecular to brain-regional aspects, particularly the psychobiological and psychosocial aspects associated with neurological conditions and affective disorders includingr anger and aggression. He is involved in collaborative International research with many European and Non-European countries.

Victor R. Preedy BSc, PhD, DSc, FRSB, FRSH, FRIPH, FRSPH, FRCPath, FRSC is a senior member of King’s College London. He is also Director of the Genomics Centre and a member of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine. Professor Preedy has longstanding academic interests in neurosciences has edited over 10 volumes in this area. He is senior editor of the Elsevier series Neuroscience which has 7 volumes at present. He graduated in 1974 with an Honours Degree in Physiology with Pharmacology and Biology. He gained his University of London PhD in 1981. In 1992, he received his Membership of the Royal College of Pathologists and in 1993 he gained his second doctoral degree (DSc). Professor Preedy was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Biology in 1995 and also as a Fellow to the Royal College of Pathologists in 2000. He was then elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health (2004) and The Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene (2004). In 2009, Professor Preedy became a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and in 2012 a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. To his credit, Professor Preedy has published over 600 articles, which includes peer-reviewed manuscripts based on original research, abstracts and symposium presentations, reviews and numerous books and volumes.

Dr Vinood B. Patel, BSc, PhD, FRSC, is currently a Reader in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Westminster and honorary fellow at Kings College London. In 2014, he was elected as a Fellow to The Royal Society of Chemistry. He presently directs studies on metabolic pathways. He is interested in identifying new biomarkers that can be used for the diagnosis and prognosis of disease including autism. Dr Patel graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Pharmacology and completed his PhD in protein metabolism from Kings College London in 1997. His postdoctoral work was carried out at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical School studying structural-functional alterations to mitochondrial ribosomes, where he developed novel techniques to characterize their biophysical properties. Dr Patel is a nationally and internationally recognized researcher and was involved in several NIH-funded biomedical grants related to organic disease. Dr Patel has edited biomedical books in the area of toxic agents and biomarkers. He is Editor of 6 Springer-Nature books on Biomarkers and has published over 150 articles.
