Allison Carey set out from Chance Cove, a small village on Newfoundland Southern Shore, for a day of trouting. A strange fog suddenly descends over the barrens stranding her overnight by the side of Aidan’s Pond. In the night, footfalls squelching through drizzle-soaked moss frighten Allison, and when she stands to identify the source, a bad fall renders her unconscious.

She awakes in a strange world called Shoshanna, surrounded by impossible beings, and is asked to embark on a perilous trek to rescue five Kidnapped children... faerie children. Na Lanni (Our children) are captives in the dungeons of heartless, twisted creatures who call themselves Tragen Dowhan.

Allison must use every ounce of strength and courage she possesses to survive. Along the way, she experiences failure and triumph, heartache and joy, betrayal and love. She also witnesses wonders no one at home would believe. The dangerous journey turns her world upside down, forcing her to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about Newfoundland faeries, her own family, and even herself.
