Fairy tales have a universal appeal, whether it is the way they deal with relationships, the growth process, the mysteries, or the moral questions that it raises. And this richness in attracting children makes fairy tales powerful tools in working with students to learn English.
To help the children explore the story and explore the different aspects of who, what, where and why, we have organized many activities related to natural science, math, and crafts. Whereas natural science helps link fantasy to reality, crafts help kids focus on the meaning of the words they hear. It also helps children create an affective bond with the subject. And though crafts do take some time, preparation and cost, for young children they are an opportunity to explore their own thoughts and learn to express them in English.
