Nigel Havers and Jenny Seagrove star in this 2009 BBC Radio production, originally transmitted live as part of the BBC's Maida Vale 75th anniversary celebrations. Based on the original film screenplay, which in turn was inspired by Coward's stage play Still Life, this adaptation was commissioned by the BBC in 1947. Brief Encounter is now a stage play in its own right.
