It is not easy being a Manchester City fan. We have developed ulcers and grown prematurely grey supporting City. While United were beating Bayern Munich to become the champions of Europe we were in a final also, to gain promotion from the third tier of English football. We have cursed and cried, and on the odd occasion lauded and laughed. We have sworn never again to take out season tickets, never again to support the team, and always, we have remained. We are masters of self deprecation, we have to be in order of retaining our sanity. There are countless books on the history of Manchester City. This is the history of my fifty year relationship with the club, my twenty most iconic games attended, although three of the games I never actually got into the stadium. This is the story of my love affair with my greatest, truest love, Manchester City.
