Buddha-mindfulness, buddhanusmrit in Sanskrit and nianfo in Chinese, is one of the most widely practiced Buddhist cultivation methods for enhancing meditative concentration and securing rebirth in Buddha's pure lands. This book elucidates five different levels of Buddha-mindfulness--from phenomena-based methods, such as recitation of Buddha's name, to Buddha-mindfulness in Ultimate Reality, a principle-based method. The author emphasizes that practitioners should adjust and fine-tune their techniques as their level of mental concentration deepens so that they can eventually rely on this power to achieve awakening to the True Mind and gain direct comprehension of the Ultimate Reality.
