Robert G. Ingersoll, one of the most well-known American orators of the late 19th century, critiques six sermons given by Rev. T. De Witt Talmage in this collection of interviews. In addition, Ingersoll offers his own version of a catechism in response to Talmage's. This work provides an interesting glimpse into the religious and social debates of the time.
