Photography is a fundamental element in our knowledge of the world and in the exchange of ideas between different cultures—sometimes very remote from one another in distance and in time. In recent years, images have invaded our world making a much bigger contribution to planetwide communication than words, creating contacts and conveying information.The editors of the second title of The New Photography In… series have chosen twenty-four of the most interesting artists who best represent the main directions that Italy’s photographic language has taken in recent years. All of them are well-known artists between the ages of thirty and forty and show their work in important galleries throughout the world.
