Once elephants came in two colours: black or white. They loved all other creatures - but each set wanted to exterminate the elephants that were not the same as themselves.

Peace-loving individuals ran and hid in the deepest jungle, and battle commenced. The war-mongers all succeeded.

For a long time it seemed that there were no elephants in the world at all, not of any colour. But then the descendants of the peace-loving ones emerged from the jungle, and by now they were all grey.

愛好和平的大象只好逃到叢林深處躲起來，然而戰爭終究爆發了，好戰的大象成功消滅對方。

有很長一段時間，大象好像從地球絕跡了，沒有白象，也沒有黑象。然而，喜愛和平大象的後裔最後走出了叢林，所以大象就變成我們現在看到的灰色了。
